- 276 newspaper and yearbook students competed in the on-the-spot competition.
- Newspaper: 17 schools
- Yearbook: 7 schools
- Approximately 75 students submitted entries to the broadcast send-in contest.
- Broadcast: 6 schools
- 24 professional judges
